Job summary

Northwest Medical Center is seeking a registered nurse (RN) for a seasonal, full-time day shift contract of 13 or 26 weeks. The position may float to all four Northwest Healthcare hospitals in the Tucson area.

You will provide patient-centered care using the nursing process, collaborate with physicians and the care team, administer medications, monitor patients, educate families, and uphold safety and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of nursing process and clinical nursing practices.
• Ability to perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively.
• Proficient in administering medications and monitoring for side effects.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting patient care.
• Knowledge of safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient-centered care per policies.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings.
• Provide age-appropriate care and education.
• Administer medications and monitor for side effects.
• Assist physicians during procedures.
• Develop and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Respond to medical emergencies and perform CPR/code.
• Educate patients and families on conditions and discharge care.
• Maintain infection control protocols.
• Monitor and operate medical equipment.
