Job summary

Ben's Bells Project in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Flex Time Retail Assistant for seasonal operations, including offsite events and in-store sales, ending January 2026.

You will be the first point of contact, process transactions, balance cash, assist inventory, and coordinate volunteers, with weekends/evenings required.

This role requires excellent people skills, reliability, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with a flexible schedule and basic office and POS experience.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience helpful, preferably in a retail environment.
• Proficiency in web applications and database systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Prior money-handling experience.
• Experience with POS/Inventory Management systems (LightSpeed POS preferred).
• Ability to effectively communicate in person, in writing, and on the phone.

Responsibilities

• Act as a first point-of-contact representative and share Ben's Bells story.
• Respond to customer service issues and escalate when needed.
• Help customers select products.
• Respond to merchandise inquiries via email and phone.
• Process merchandise transactions.
• Process cash, check, and credit card payments.
• Drive sales through engagement, suggestive selling and product knowledge.
• Run daily reports.
• Balance cash register at shift end.
• Assist with inventory tagging and management.
• Gather, transport and set up/tear down merchandise at events.
• Maintain store or booth inventory, cleanliness and displays.
• Coordinate tasks for merchandise volunteers and interns.
• Assist Retail Director and Retail Coordinator as needed.
