FirstService Residential is seeking a Seasonal Restaurant Server in California to provide friendly, responsive service and create memorable guest experiences. You will take orders, upsell items, and ensure smooth service, while maintaining cash accuracy and assisting teammates as needed.

The role requires the ability to work under pressure, a professional demeanor, and excellent interpersonal skills, with fluent English.

Qualifications

• Eligibility to work in the US.
• Evidence of required certifications (Food Handler Card and/or Serve Safe) or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Hospitality/service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks.
• Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations.
• Accept orders and deliver to guests in assigned area.
• Ensure friendly and efficient service to the guest.
• Apply positive communication and interpersonal skills with guests at all times.
• Complete all set‑up duties in a timely fashion.
• Welcome and greet guests and ensure they feel attended to.
• Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous service to guests.
• Make recommendations you genuinely feel guests will enjoy.

• Answer questions about food, beverages and other property services.
• Receive payments and maintain cash accuracy.

Job Overview

Seasonal Restaurant Server will provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional experience for all of our guests. Each server’s primary objective is to show our guests such a marvelous time, they will want to return again and again.

Compensation

$18-20/hr

FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client’s property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client’s directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Your Responsibilities

• Interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks.
• Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations.
• Accept orders and deliver to guests in assigned area.
• Ensure friendly and efficient service to the guest.
• Apply positive communication and interpersonal skills with guests, (internal and external) at all times.
• Complete all set‑up duties in a timely fashion.
• Welcome and greet guests. Make all guests feel comfortable; let them know you’re there to personally take care of them.
• Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous service to guests.
• Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.
• Up‑sell items using suggestive selling techniques.
• Answer questions about our food, beverages and other Property functions and services.
• Receive cash, credit cards, member credit and be responsible for maintaining accuracy in bank.
• Perform opening and closing duties in the service areas.
• Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise.
• Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the floor as directed by the manager or immediate leadership.
• Other duties may be assigned from time to time.

• Required to have a valid Food Handler Card and/or Serve Safe Certification or obtain one upon hiring.
