Nordstrom is seeking a fashion-forward sales professional in New Jersey to deliver outstanding customer service and drive sales. You will build a personal client base, provide confident style advice, and stay current on trends to act as a trusted resource. A team-first mindset and flexibility for evenings and weekends are essential.

Responsibilities include maintaining a ready department, leveraging digital tools, and following Nordstrom's 5-Point Selling Standard while hitting personal targets.

In Jewelry, Handbags, Accessories & Luggage, you'll help customers complete their look and meet every day needs with jewelry, handbags, wallets, luggage, scarves, sunglasses, and other accessories. Use your fashion and product expertise to recommend items that fit a customer's style and lifestyle, and educate them on features, materials, craftsmanship, and brand differences

A day in the life…

• Deliver Nordstrom's 5-Point Selling Standard in every customer interaction: Say Hello, Small Talk, Be Helpful & Sell, Fashion Authority, Follow-up.
• Build and grow a personal customer base through in-store interactions, outreach, and digital tools
• Offer honest, confident style and fit feedback that earns trust and drives loyalty
• Set and achieve personal sales goals, and stay accountable to results
• Keep the department customer-ready, including stocking, re-merchandising, price markdowns, merchandise recovery, and participate in bi-annual inventory count
• Stay current on product knowledge and trends to serve as a trusted style resource
• Show up for your team every shift, communicate openly, contribute to a positive team environment, and pitch in to help the department stay productive
• Able to commit to a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including evenings, weekends, and peak periods
• Follow Up - Build lasting relationships to drive predictable business by using the 2-2-2 Method (follow up 2 days, 2 weeks, and 2 months after a purchase), Nordy Club enrollment, and Personal Book (your tool for tracking customers so outreach feels personal)

• Physical Requirements:Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift, which includes frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing and reaching in order to handle merchandise and assist customers.Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pullingHandle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, which include reaching for and lifting these items above the head.Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below has been provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different for other locations.
Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

$16.15 - $16.15 HourlyAt Nordstrom, the commission most selling employees receive varies based on the merchandise they sell. Apparel, shoes, and accessories sales typically range from 3% to 14.5%. The commission Beauty and Men’s Fragrance sales roles typically receive is 3%.
