Job summary

Tenet Healthcare in Delray Beach, FL seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department. The RN provides high quality, safe, cost effective total nursing care and coordinates patient care per needs of the patient and family.

The nurse directs care following safety and infection control standards with the goal of discharging the ED patient with optimal care. The role requires Florida RN licensure, BLS/ACLS; PALS within one year; CPI within six months; TNCC within 18 months; ENPC

Qualifications

• Minimum: Education recognized by the State of Florida as qualification for Registered Nurse licensure.
• Minimum: One year experience in Med/Surg or two years in Emergency Room preferred.
• Licensed as Registered Nurse in Florida; CPR/BLS/ACLS/PALS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, safe nursing care to Emergency/Trauma patients.
• Coordinate and integrate patient care based on patient and family needs.
• Direct care according to safety standards and infection control procedures.
• Discharge the patient from the ED with optimum care.
• Report for scheduled shift and participate in meetings; communicate at meetings.
• Assist patients, families, physicians, visitors and staff professionally.

Job Type: Seasonal contract working Full Time Hours

The RN provides high quality, safe, cost effective, total nursing care to the Emergency/Trauma patient. The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on need of the patient and family members. The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, IQ, Infection control, with the goal being to discharge the patient from the ED with an optimum level of care provided.

Reports for scheduled shift on time and prepared to assume responsibilities. Attends and participates in meetings and is responsible for information communicated at meetings. Adheres to Corporate, Regional, hospital and departmental policy and procedures. Assists all patients, family members, physicians, visitors and employees in a professional and courteous manner. Follows Infection Control procedures at all times. Demonstrates the ability to adapt to varied age-specific patient populations.

EDUCATION:

• Minimum: Education recognized by the State of Florida as qualification for Registered Nurse licensure.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum: One (1) year experience in a Med/Surg area or
• Preferred: Two (2) years' experience in an Emergency Room setting

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:

• Registered Nurse - licensed in the State of Florida.
• American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification
• PALS are required within one year of employment.
• Hazmat preferred, but not required
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required within six months of employment.
• TNCC is required within 18 months of employment in the position.
• ENPC is strongly encouraged.
• CEN preferred, but not required
