Job summary

Tampa General Hospital is seeking a Seasonal Registered Nurse to support the EP Lab for a 13-week contract. You will provide direct patient care during cardiac/interventional radiology procedures under nursing supervision.

Requirements include Florida RN licensure with BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; an Associate's Degree in Nursing and a minimum of 2 years’ Cath Lab experience, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care using the nursing process during cardiac/interventional radiology procedures.
• Monitor vital signs and administer medications as directed by the physician.
• Maintain patient records and update charts for procedures in the Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology.
• Assist during life-saving actions such as CPR and defibrillation and monitor sedation per physician instructions.

Provides direct care to patients using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation during the cardiac/interventional radiology procedures. Functions and performs all technical aspects of nursing care within the framework of established policies and procedures of Hospital. Performs under the supervision of the Department Director and Nursing Director. The Cath Lab/IR Nurse conducts patient assessment duties such as monitoring vital signs, administering medications as instructed by the physician. Also keeps patient records, updates charts or for the medical procedures performed in the cardiac catheterization laboratory/Interventional Radiology. Also will help during life saving actions such as CPR and defibrillation. Monitors patient during Conscious Sedation per physician instructions. Administered medication during advance interventional cardiac/peripheral procedures such as STEMI, PCI, balloon angioplasty, stent placement.

Qualifications

Education: Associate's Degree of Nursing Minimum

Licenses/Certifications: FL RN license; BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required.

Minimum 1 year experience in the Cath Lab.
