Job summary

The National Park Service in Wellfleet, MA seeks Biological Science Technicians to support field and technical work monitoring and protecting natural resources such as plants, wildlife, and habitats during the seasonal period.

Anticipated entry on duty is March to July 2027 with a typical seasonal period March to September; qualification includes a 500 meter swim in 10 minutes and a 1.5 mile run in 12 minutes. Must submit a detailed resume with hours per week and transcripts.

Qualifications

• At least one full year of specialized experience comparable to GS-06 in the Federal service.
• Experience includes leading or supervising lifeguards, water rescues, enforcing beach regulations and administering first aid.
• Hours per week must be shown on the resume.
• Graduate education directly related to the position may credit experience; transcripts required.
• Volunteer experience is creditable and may be counted toward qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, manage, and protect natural resources, including plants, wildlife, and aquatic resources and their habitats.
• Conduct field and technical work to support resource monitoring and protection.
• Assist in program administration and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
