Job summary

Ocean State Job Lot is seeking a Seasonal Peak Associate to assist with processing receipts, stocking merchandise, and replenishing items in the store. The role involves unloading, ticketing, and arranging fixtures while maintaining a clean and organized sales floor.

The position requires basic math/reading skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. It includes tasks like stocking, settling receiving areas, and assisting in price verification as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in merchandise receiving, handling, and stocking in retail or warehouse environments.
• Basic math and reading skills, legible handwriting, and good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow the Company’s freight management process when unloading.
• Merchandise fixtures and other supplies from trucks before directing them to designated areas on the sales floor.
• Prepare merchandise for the sales floor by removing it from packaging, verifying price information, and ticketing where necessary; process merchandise as directed and in accordance with Company procedures.
• Perform ongoing recovery throughout a shift as needed, such as collect trash and compact cardboard.
• Possess the ability to work independently and as a member of a team to accomplish assigned goals.
• Operate a cash register as needed.
• Recover receiving areas and sales floor prior to the end of each shift.
