Job summary

DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is seeking Railroad Crossing Applicators to join our team. This full-time seasonal role focuses on vegetation control treatments at railroad crossings with safety as the top priority.

You will operate spray trucks, mix water and chemicals, and perform weed eating and hose management while following contract specs. Travel for 4–6 weeks may be required; some weekends and night work possible.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 21+ years of age or older.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 5 years of clean driving history.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, and federal background check for railroad property access.
• Ability to travel away from home for 4–6 weeks at a time (DCS provides hotel accommodations and per diem).
• Most work is Monday–Friday, 7am–4pm, with 10–12-hour shifts.
• Some weekend or night work may be required.
• Hours may vary with weather and workload.

Responsibilities

• Fill trucks with water/chemical mix.
• Perform minor weed eating with an industrial weed eater and chainsaw work (16" bar minimum).
• Pull and roll up 300–500 feet of hose up to 32 times per day.
• Safely drive and operate spray trucks between crossings.
• Call MTM for daily job briefings.
• Complete required end-of-day paperwork.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
