Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Seasonal Radiologic Technologist PRN to perform radiology procedures under a Radiologist’s supervision. The role emphasizes accurate imaging, patient communication using AIDET, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Under supervision, you will prepare patients, position them for procedures, and ensure proper documentation and image quality. This position supports the radiology department in delivering timely imaging services with a focus on safety

• EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience

• Prepare the patient and area for the procedure; position the patient and adjust equipment.
• Maintains safety, infection-control, and radiation policies.
• Maintains equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards.
• Reports issues to management and assists with inventory.

Job Summary

The Seasonal Radiologic Technologist PRN, under a Radiologist's supervision, performs radiology procedures on patients as requested by a physician or licensed provider.

Essential Functions Of The Role

• Performs high-quality radiology procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner. Maintains production and quality by following established standards and procedures.
• Utilizes AIDET to communicate with patients. Identifies patient service needs. Ensures the correct exam is performed on the correct patient. Establishes rapport with patients and others. Instructs and communicates with patients and their family about the test. Assess the patient's ability to tolerate the exam.
• Prepare the patient and area for the procedure. Position the patient and adjust immobilization devices. Move equipment into position. Adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors.
• Protects patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control, drug and radiation policies, protocols and techniques.
• Uses proper sterile techniques when setting up and performing invasive multimodality procedures and maintains hand hygiene requirements.
• Maintains equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards.
• Works with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment.
• Reports issues to management or appropriate department.
• Assists in maintaining supplies inventory.
• Ensures people are safe to enter the department by screening them according to approved policies and procedures.
• Obtain, verify, and keep all relevant documentation. This includes requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status, shielding precautions, consent forms, policies, and procedures.
• Maintains medical imaging records in appropriate system and according to department policies and standards for interpretation in a timely manner.

• Demonstrates and maintains current knowledge, education, and skills for appropriate care of newborns, pediatric, young adults, adults, and geriatrics.
• Able to serve as preceptor by providing quality training to new team members and on new services and initiatives.
• Able to take call, if required.
