Job summary

Research Medical Center in Independence, Missouri is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a seasonal PRN role this winter, with an increased seasonal pay rate and a completion bonus for eligible staff.

You’ll perform diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care, manage invasive and noninvasive ventilation, and work across emergency, critical care, and acute settings with access to advanced technology.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
• NBRC-RRT credential required.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• State-recognized RT/Practitioner credentials.
• One year of experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assess respiratory status with focused exams and interpret breath sounds.
• Deliver evidence-based therapy including oxygen, aerosols, and airway clearance techniques.
• Manage ventilation and airways, including invasive/noninvasive ventilation.
• Educate patients and families; collaborate with care team; assist with newborn stabilization when needed.
• Maintain and sanitize equipment; ensure readiness and safety; transport ventilated patients.
