Job summary

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is seeking Seasonal PRN Registered Nurses for Inpatient and ED units. The role requires direct nursing experience and adherence to PRN policies, with shifts ranging by department needs.

RNs coordinate and deliver patient-centered care, document thoroughly, and educate patients and families about conditions and care plans. The program offers a pathway to open FT/PT/PRN vacancies after completion, with some differential pay opportunities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing school (ADN or BSN).
• Currently licensed as a registered nurse in the state(s) of practice or with an active compact license.
• BLS required; ACLS within 90 days; NIH Stroke training within 90 days; TNCC within 6 months; ENPC within 6 months; PALS preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management.
• Document care administration in the patient medical record promptly and thoroughly.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up measures.
• Prepare patients and families for self-management and healthy lifestyle changes.
