Job summary

Culpeper County Parks & Recreation is seeking a skilled Pool Supervisor to manage daily pool operations during the summer season. You will supervise lifeguards, instructors, concessions, and front desk staff, enforce safety rules, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for all patrons.

Responsibilities include coordinating staff schedules, conducting training, monitoring water quality, and handling opening/closing procedures.

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• Certifications: AFO or CPO, lifeguard, CPR/AED, WSI, and first aid.
• Must be 18+, able to stand, swim, and respond quickly to emergencies.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays; complete training before opening day.

Responsibilities

• Supervise lifeguards, instructors, concessions, and front desk staff.
• Enforce pool rules and safety procedures; respond to emergencies immediately.
• Inspect equipment and monitor water quality; schedule staff rotations.
• Open, operate, and close facilities; manage cash handling and shift reports.
• Provide staff training and conduct in-service sessions; deliver excellent customer service.
