Job summary

Metroparks Toledo is seeking a Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Assistant to help maintain park grounds and facilities, supporting the Park Services team. You will perform tasks such as cleaning, mowing, pruning, painting signs, and assisting with event setup while upholding the Trust's Clean, Safe, and Natural promise.

This role offers a monthly set schedule, opportunities for growth to Custodian or Park Technician, and benefits including health care and retirement.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with a valid driver's license.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• No prior work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Year-Round Park Services Staff with maintenance duties such as cleaning restrooms, litter pickup, trash removal and event setup/cleanup.
• Maintain park grounds, including painting/staining features and completing trail improvements.
• Perform horticultural duties: mowing, weeding, watering, pruning and planting.
• Apply pesticides/herbicides under licensed supervisor's guidance to control invasive species.
• Safely drive park vehicles with trailers between locations.
