Job summary

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission - PGC Parks and Recreation is seeking a Seasonal Park Maintenance Worker-Program Support to provide year-round support for park operations, events, maintenance projects, and program needs throughout the Southern Region Parks Division.

The successful candidate will assist with daily park and facility operations, setup and breakdown of event and program equipment, transportation of materials, general grounds and building maintenance, and

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to bend, stoop, stretch, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general park maintenance, groundskeeping, facility support, and program-related tasks.
• Set up, break down, transport, and store equipment, supplies, furniture, tables, chairs, tents, signs, and other program support items.
• Load and unload tools, equipment, supplies, and materials from vehicles and work areas.
• Support park programs, events, rentals, special projects, and maintenance operations as assigned.
• Use hand tools, power tools, carts, vehicles, trailers, and other maintenance equipment safely and appropriately.
• Clean, organize, maintain, and store tools, equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Monitor work areas and event/program setups to support safety, cleanliness, and successful operations.
• Provide support to Southern Region Parks Division staff.
• Transport, deliver, set up, and break down program support items, equipment, tools, supplies, and materials.
• Maintain inventory of equipment, tools, supplies, and materials used for program support operations.
• Support effective execution of daily tasks through teamwork and communication.
• Perform related tasks as required.
