Job summary

Consolidated Utility District of Rutherford County is seeking a field technician to assist with the Meter Service Department. Responsibilities include inspecting meters for damage, replacing registers and transponders, and completing digital work orders via mobile devices.

Ideal candidates will have a current Tennessee driver’s license, be 18+ years old, and possess basic technical and computer skills. This on-site role requires physical capability to work outdoors in varied weather and field

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18 with a valid TN driver’s license and clean driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Good knowledge of Rutherford County.
• Basic tool, equipment, and vehicle maintenance.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect current customer water meters for damage.

Job description

Seasonal positions are not eligible for benefits including holiday, sick, or vacation pay. Position may be eliminated at any time according to business need.

To assist with Meter Service Department replacing meters. Comply with all policies outlined in employee handbook.

Essential Functions

• Inspect current customer water meters for damage.
• Change out meter registers and meter transponders.
• Completion of digital work orders on mobile device.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Minimum age of 18 years old with a valid TN driver’s license and clean driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Good knowledge of Rutherford County
• Basic tool, equipment, and vehicle maintenance
• Basic computer skills
