Job summary

Scholastic is seeking team members for its distribution operations in Missouri. This temporary seasonal role handles loading, stacking, and labeling parcels to keep pallets balanced and shipments moving efficiently.

You will operate conveyors and equipment, lift up to 70 lbs, and comply with safety rules in a non-climate controlled environment. The first shift pays $19.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs
• Must be able to wear steel toe shoes when operating a powered industrial vehicle
• Refer to Physical Demand Analysis (PDA) for complete physical requirements

Responsibilities

• Replenish pick areas by moving boxes from pallet locations to flow racks
• Load parcels from conveyor into trailer while keeping up with a fast paced and repetitive carton flow
• Stack parcels in a systematic manner that maintains proper weight distribution from side to side and front to back of trailer
• Scan each parcel as it is loaded onto the trailer(s)
• Inspect and stack off damaged parcels for repacking
• Monitor trailer overall parcel and weight limits to ensure minimum weight requirements are met without exceeding maximum weight limits
• Sort, lift and stack boxes as well as finished product correctly onto pallets
• Transports and load materials, supplies and finished goods (manually and/or using hand jacks or powered industrial trucks)
• Safely operates various types of equipment to include but not limited to i.e., box knives, tape guns, electronic handheld devices, RF scanners, etc.
• Safely operates machinery to include but not limited to conveyors, tapers, labeler, palletizer and bailers
• Must be able to work safely around moving equipment and conveyors
• Must be able to stand/walk on concrete floors
• Must be able to read and comprehend a basic order form and be able to communicate well with others
• Work in non‑climatically controlled environment throughout the year

Other Responsibilities

• Assist in relabeling and packing of reworked parcels
• Collects and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintains a safe and clean work environment
• May work in different areas (departments) in Operations based up business needs
• Adheres to facility hours or operation to include overtime and weekends
• Maintains positive and respectful attitude while working independently and in a team environment
• Other duties as assigned

Compensation and Location

Starting Salary: 1st shift = $19.00 an hour

Location: Algoa, McCarty and/or Robinson Road Buildings

Hours

Monday‑Friday 7:00a.m. – 3:00p.m. with overtime at beginning; applies to Algoa/East McCarty/Rob Road
