Job summary

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at the University of Miami invites applications for part-time faculty to teach up to two courses per semester during the academic year. We seek instructors able to teach Arabic, French, German, Haitian Creole, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, or Spanish. Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in the target language or a related field and have at least one year of college-level teaching.

A Ph.D. is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in the target language or a related field is required.
• At least one year of college-level teaching experience.
• Ability to teach Arabic, French, German, Haitian Creole, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, or Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to two courses per semester as part-time faculty.
• Provide a minimum of three hours per week of student office hours.
• Appointments contingent on student enrollments and funding.
