Job Purpose and Summary

Responsibilities

• Live our purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
• Travel the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator and act as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts without overlap.
• Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by directing the pharmacy team to follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails at every workstation.
• Assume the Pharmacy Manager’s day‑to‑day duties when being the only or primary pharmacist‑on‑duty.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, coaching the pharmacy team, collaborating with the patient’s total health‑care team, and proactively resolving insurance or medication issues.
• Offer and deliver immunizations to keep patients healthy; support Pharmacy Technicians in learning immunization.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, guiding the team on best practices, especially protecting cold‑chain products.
• Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs while fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic.
• Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills through trainings and CMEs and seek knowledge expansion to better support patients.
• Support access to care and improve outcomes via pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services where permissible.
• Understand and comply with federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles; adhere to CVS Health policies and procedures to support patient safety and privacy, and protect a safe workplace.
