Job summary

Sandhills Community College is seeking Garden of Lights guest services team members for the seasonal event. Roles include Ticket Sales, Gate Scanning, Concessions, Exit Staff, and Floater, with shifts Wednesday through Sunday evenings from November 18, 2026 to January 10, 2027.

Team members ensure safety and excellent guest experiences in a fast-paced venue, operate POS devices and ticket scanners, and may support different areas as needed. Training provided.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass a background check in accordance with college policy.
• Ability to process card and mobile payment transactions accurately (Garden of Lights is a cashless event).
• Comfortable learning and using ticketing, scanning, and point-of-sale technology.
• Friendly, patient, and professional customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to address guests politely but firmly when enforcing event policies.
• Strong commitment to safety and the ability to follow procedures and instructions consistently.
• Ability to work as part of a team and move between roles as needed.
• Dependable and punctual, with availability for Wednesday–Sunday evening shifts throughout the event season.

Responsibilities

• Attend required pre-season training on ticketing and point-of-sale systems, guest service standards, safety, and emergency procedures.
• Check in with the Nightly Event Manager at the start of each shift to receive role assignments and locations.
• Greet guests warmly and provide friendly, patient service to guests of all ages.
• Answer guest questions about the event and point out restrooms, shuttle, and parking areas.
• Operate point-of-sale devices, ticket scanners, and other equipment; report malfunctions immediately.
• Stay alert to crowding, tripping hazards, and lost children; follow safety procedures.
• Report incidents or concerns to the Nightly Event Manager immediately.
