Job summary

Talantage, LLC is hiring Grounds Maintenance Laborers to support El Yunque National Forest in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. This seasonal/full-time role involves outdoor labor, operating landscaping tools, and maintaining trails and facilities.

Candidates should be reliable, safety-conscious, physically capable, and able to hike to remote locations. CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days, background check, and PPE readiness required.

Qualifications

• Prior groundskeeping/landscaping outdoor labor experience.
• Ability to work outdoors in heat and humidity; hike in rough terrain.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Completion of safety training if not already certified.

Responsibilities

• Perform grounds maintenance including mowing, pruning, weeding, sod/topsoil replacement, and watering.
• Maintain recreational areas, trails, and facilities including sign cleaning, pressure washing, and minor repairs.
• Safely operate hand tools and landscaping equipment.
• Assist in removal of debris, felled trees, or vegetation from roadways and trails.
• Hike to remote and rugged locations as needed for maintenance tasks.
• Comply with USDA Forest Service policies, including safety and environmental protection.
• Maintain and submit monthly status reports.
• Attend safety meetings and adhere to PPE requirements.
