The National Park Service in the Southeast Region seeks a Laborer (Motor Vehicle Operating) to perform recurring laboring, grounds, and basic maintenance duties and to operate motor vehicles and equipment to transport personnel, materials, supplies, and equipment. The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period is March–November, but can vary due to weather, project needs, or funding.

Anticipated entry on duty: March–May 2027.

Responsabilités

• Operating light duty motor vehicles such as pickup trucks and sedans to transport personnel, supplies, materials, equipment, and tools throughout the park.
• Maintaining buildings, grounds, roads, and trails with power equipment and hand tools.
• Cleaning and maintaining equipment and performing janitorial duties for buildings.
• Loading and unloading supplies from trucks and trailers, and moving items with wheelbarrows/hand trucks.
• Moving furniture and signs, painting picnic tables and signs, raking and watering lawns, and trimming trees and shrubbery.
• Cutting heavy trees with ax or chainsaw, stacking logs and cement sacks.
• Digging ditches and trenches, breaking up pavement or concrete, and pouring concrete/asphalt as needed.
• Operating vehicles on federal/state/country roads and city streets in all traffic conditions following applicable speeds.
