Job summary

Dan & Jerry's Greenhouses is seeking a seasonal greenhouse worker to plant, grow, and maintain crops, and to support packaging and shipping to customers. You will participate in safety meetings to promote a safe working culture and ensure high-quality plant products.

The role includes duties in greenhouse production, general grounds maintenance, and equipment upkeep, with emphasis on timely, careful handling of plants and nutrients. Local travel and physical endurance are expected for fieldwork.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ownership for decisions and actions.
• Demonstrates a strong work ethic, flexible with work hours, and willing to be available when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Grow crops including seeding, pruning, transplanting, spacing, watering.
• Set, pull, sort and store plants according to variety and growing needs.
• Perform irrigation activities and water plants by hand or via automated systems.
• Move containerized plants using rolling carts.
• Unload carts/bins/trucks and sort product for quality issues and repack for sales.
• Maintain greenhouse facilities and grounds; assist with equipment maintenance and repair.
• Operate equipment safely with or without direction.
