Job summary

River Valley Cooperative in Sheffield, IL is seeking a Seasonal Operator to support member owners in farming operations and help maintain a sustainable local cooperative.

You will operate and maintain equipment and vehicles, handle bulk and packaged chemicals, load grain, perform daily inspections, and follow OSHAand DOT safety standards during day shifts. Experience in agriculture is preferred and a CDL is a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in agriculture or a related field preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• CDL or Seasonal CDL is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain all equipment and vehicles.
• Handle and deliver bulk and packaged chemicals.
• May unload and load grain from storage bins and/or transportation.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections.
• Clean and maintain equipment.
• Utilize heavy machinery, such as an end loader or skid steer.
• Observe OSHA, DOT, state and federal safety regulations.
• Follow housekeeping practices keeping facilities neat and clean.

As a Seasonal Operator, you will be responsible for providing quality products and services in the operations that will assist member owners of River Valley Cooperative to be financially successful in their farming operations and provide for a sustainable local cooperative operation to serve member needs.

Working Conditions
