Responsibilities
- Operate scale and probe equipment to weigh inbound and outbound trucks, record information, and take grain samples.
- Perform grading tests for specific grains where applicable and electronically record grades, splits, and weights.
- Direct trucks to the appropriate location and weigh out empty trucks, recording all information accurately.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with customers, keeping truck lines moving efficiently.
- Complete all documentation timely, accurately, and legibly, labeling and storing samples according to facility protocol.
- Participate in the company Safety Program and attend daily pre‑shift meetings; where applicable, participate in Food Safety and Quality Programs.
- Perform general clean‑up activities such as sweeping, shoveling, washing, painting, and other housekeeping duties.
- Assist with ground piles, cleaning bins, rail duties, and other tasks as assigned.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, company safety, and environmental regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: None required; preferred at least 1 year working in an industrial environment with a dependable work record.
- License/Certification: Grain grader and/or weighing certificate; if not obtained before hire, must obtain in time applicable to perform job duties.

- Working knowledge of computers and software.
- Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).

Physical Demands & Requirements

- Ability to concentrate on tasks without becoming distracted constantly/continuously.
- Ability to distinguish grain characteristics and odor differences accurately.
- Ability to enter information into a computer accurately.
- Ability to grasp and reach constantly/continuously and frequently.
- Ability to lift 3 lb. samples above the shoulder frequently.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 lbs. occasionally or continuously depending on daily needs.
- Ability to meet requirements of all applicable PPE, PFT, and fit testing where applicable.
- Ability to perform work in confined spaces.
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit constantly/continuously.
- Ability to understand and communicate verbally, in person, and over two‑way radio.
- Ability to understand and communicate written instructions.
- Ability to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and/or alternate shifts as needed.
- Ability to work outside in extreme weather conditions.
- Acutely aware of surroundings with ability to quickly adjust to a signal or change in environment.
- Travel 5%–20% may be required at some facilities.
Environmental Conditions
The work environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat, cold, wet, humid, and dry conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment.
Pay Range
The expected base pay range for this role is $17.00 - $19.00. Actual pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including work location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and relevant experience for the job.
