Job summary

Skyland Grain, LLC is seeking a Seasonal Elevator Operator to assist with receiving, storing, and shipping grain at our grain elevator and related facilities. The role is seasonal/temporary, with potential for full-time opportunity where applicable.

Responsibilities include operating conveyors, inspecting grain, maintaining equipment, and supporting inventory controls while maintaining a safe, clean work environment and professional conduct at all times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 1–3 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to multitask and be mechanically inclined.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and frequently lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Dumps grain and/or loads railcars or trucks, and cleans up grain spills.
• Inspects grain for insects, moisture, and foreign material during unloading.
• Reads grain temperatures at storage levels in a timely manner.
• Starts conveyors, selects flow pipes, sets trippers, and directs grain to storage or destination.
• Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on elevator equipment.
• Assists with inventory controls as directed by supervisor.
• Maintains clean facilities and reports hazards to ensure safety compliance.
