Job summary

FS GRAIN in Northern Illinois is seeking an elevator operator to manage grain handling, drying, safety, and equipment maintenance under the location manager’s supervision.

You will support customers, ensure grain quality, perform routine housekeeping, and follow OSHA guidelines while contributing to a team‑oriented work environment; compensation includes a comprehensive benefits package and retirement plan.

Qualifications

• HS diploma and/or experience in an agricultural field.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Understanding and willingness to learn grain handling.
• Experience with mechanical diagnosis, service, maintenance of equipment and vehicles.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use a computer to enhance grain handling.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel overnight when necessary.
• Extended hours and on-call as needed.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming, storage, and outgoing grain; maintain grain quality and drying services.
• Housekeeping related to grain handling.
• Ensure OSHA and safety compliance and maintain equipment and facilities appearance.
• Provide professional customer service for a positive customer experience.
