Job summary

The DeLong Co., Inc. is seeking a dependable General Labor team member for our grain elevator operation in Maple Park, IL. This outdoor, hands-on role will involve operating equipment, supporting grain receiving and load-out, and maintaining safe, efficient operations.

You’ll work with an experienced team in a long-standing company, with safety-first expectations and opportunities to grow. High school diploma and 1–2 years grain handling experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience at a grain handling facility.
• Working knowledge of PLC/controls and the ability to read amp and percentage meters.
• Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge.
• Solid math skills — comfortable with percentages, decimals, and multiplication.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively and work in confined spaces.
• Physical comfort working at heights up to 150 feet and in all weather conditions.
• Flexibility to work long hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings during peak season.
• A genuine safety-first attitude — you look out for yourself and your teammates.

THE WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is an active, outdoor role at a working grain elevator. You'll be on your feet and engaged throughout the day — operating equipment, supporting grain receiving and load-out, and keeping the facility running efficiently. The environment includes:

• Outdoor and indoor work across all seasons — you'll be comfortable in this role if you genuinely enjoy working outside
• Working at heights up to 150 feet with proper safety harnesses and equipment — full training and gear provided
• Activity around heavy trucks and grain handling machinery — safety awareness is essential and rewarded here
• A fast-moving, team-driven atmosphere during peak grain seasons

Requirements

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Required:
