Job summary

Chewy is seeking a Seasonal Forklift Operator at our Ohio fulfillment center. You will contribute to efficient order fulfillment by labeling, loading/unloading, and preparing shipments, while safely operating PIT equipment.

This 90-day assignment may include evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts, with potential for full-time conversion based on needs and performance. Candidates must be 18+, adhere to safety guidelines, and be willing to be trained on PIT equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Understand and follow our safety guidelines and procedures.
• Willing to be trained on PIT equipment (e.g., Reach Truck, Dock Stocker, Turret Truck, etc.).
• Role requires reading, writing and speaking English to follow safety procedures and work instructions.
• This is a 90-day temporary assignment with potential for varying shifts (evenings, weekends, holidays).

Responsibilities

• Labeling, replenishing, box making, loading/unloading trailers.
• Fulfilling and coordinating customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Creating shipping documentation for domestic orders.
• Safely and efficiently operating Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) and transporting product to storage and staging locations.

What You’ll Do:

As a Seasonal Forklift Operator, you’ll play a key role in delivering joy to pet parents. Your responsibilities may include:

• Labeling, replenishing, box making, loading/unloading trailers
• Fulfilling and coordinating customer orders accurately and efficiently
• Creating shipping documentation for domestic orders
• Safely and efficiently operating Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) and material handling equipment to receive or transport product to storage and staging locations.

What You’ll Need:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Understand and adhere to our safety guidelines and procedures.
• Willing to be trained on PIT equipment e.g.,. Reach Truck, Order Pick, Dock Stocker, Turret Truck, Double Walkie Rider, Walkie Stacker, Movexx/Amigo.
• This role requires the ability to read, write, and speak English in order to understand and follow safety procedures, interpret work instructions, complete required documentation, and communicate effectively with team members
• This position is a 90-day temporary assignment designed to support fluctuating operational demands. Current shift openings may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Physical Requirements:

• Walk up to 2 miles per shift.
• Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Frequently lift up to 70 pounds using an optional team lift.
• Rarely lift greater than 70+ pounds using a team lift.
• Stand, push, pull, carry, squat, and kneel.
• Climb up and down stairs (where applicable).

When business needs require Team Members to work Mandatory Extra Time (MET), leadership will provide as much advance notice as possible.
