Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's DCNR seeks a Forest Maintenance Worker to care for state forest lands in the Clear Creek Forest District #8. You will maintain facilities, trails, roads, and equipment to keep public spaces safe and accessible.

This seasonal, full-time position runs roughly March through November, with no health benefits. Work hours are weekdays, with potential for schedule adjustments; telework is not available. Valid PA driver's license required, residency in PA required.

Qualifications

• One year of laboring experience using maintenance tools and equipment.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license.
• PA residency requirement.

Responsibilities

• Maintain buildings, landscapes, fences, signs, and comfort stations through cleaning, repairs, mowing, and upkeep.
• Construct and repair trails, clear vegetation, maintain boundary lines, and support safe access.
• Inspect, clean, and complete minor repairs on hand tools, power tools, vehicles, and equipment.
• Assist with search and rescue activities, wildfire suppression, fire equipment repair, and other related emergency tasks.
• Support tree cutting, planting, pruning, and vegetation treatment to aid forest and wildlife management.
• Apply herbicides or pesticides under the direction of a certified applicator.
