Ancon Services is seeking Seasonal Fire Watch Technicians for a six-month assignment based in Vacaville, CA. The role focuses on monitoring hot work to prevent fires and ensuring compliance with OSHA and site safety policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods.
• Clear verbal communication and calmness in emergencies.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality; able to work full shifts.
• Willingness to follow site safety protocols and PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor welding, cutting, grinding, brazing, and other hot work for sparks and embers.
• Maintain fire watch coverage for the duration of hot work and 30 minutes post-work.
• Halt hot work if conditions are unsafe and verify safety before resuming.
• Ensure extinguishers and firefighting equipment are ready and working before work begins.
• Extinguish incipient fires within training limits and report hazards to supervisors.
• Conduct pre-work inspections and maintain fire watch logs and equipment checks.
• Communicate clearly with welders and crew; follow OSHA and site safety policies.

Education

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
