Job summary

The Nature Conservancy seeks a Fire Ecology Field Assistant in Flagstaff, AZ, to support forest monitoring work plans. This seasonal, full-time, hourly position involves field duties across northern Arizona, with housing and a vehicle provided for travel.

Anticipated start date is September 21, 2026 and end date December 31, 2026. Valid driver’s license required; occasional remote camping may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate’s degree or equivalent in natural resources or environmental studies with 6 months’ experience.
• Experience managing and prioritizing tasks from multiple sources.
• Experience with Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word, Box, Teams, and internet research.

Responsibilities

• Field work measuring fuels and forest structure and recording data on tablets.
• Assist in AZ business unit and TNC-wide meetings and administrative tasks.
• Maintain project records and complete performance reviews, expense reports, and timecards.
