OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, CA seeks an Event Operations Maintenance Worker for temporary, seasonal support. The role involves event setup/tear-down, janitorial tasks, and equipment operation, with 2-4 days per week and up to 122 days annually.

Position requires 18+, prior janitorial experience, and ability to work weekends. Candidates may be asked to operate forklifts and other equipment, and must pass background checks if offered a position.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Previous experience with janitorial work.
• Ability to successfully handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Ability to work well and communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and patrons.
• Must be able to follow basic instructions.
• Ability to work outside the normal business day/week as demanded by events and programs, including weekends.
• Must be able to work all 23 days of the annual OC Fair (mid July – mid August).
• Preferences: Valid California driver’s license to operate a utility cart and other equipment on fairgrounds.
• Experience operating heavy equipment such as a forklift, manlift, scissor lift, Bobcat, and/or trash compactor/baler.
• Janitorial or custodial experience.
• Familiarity with the OC Fair & Event Center.

Responsabilités

• Sets up and dismantles event-related equipment and structures.
• Maintains a clean and trash-free environment by emptying barrels, cleaning and stocking restrooms, servicing patron areas, and monitoring janitorial supply inventory.
• Empties and relines trash barrels.
• Prepares exhibit buildings for move-in by cleaning and stocking supplies.
• Operates a variety of equipment including forklifts, manlifts, floor scrubbers, motorized utility carts and hand tools.
• Coordinates requests from event promoters with other departments including Maintenance and Events Services.
• Provides information to supervisor for event recap reports.
• Maintains daily notes on specific tasks assigned and equipment rented.
• Adheres to all workplace and job specific safety guidelines.
