Job summary

The Cary Institute Of Ecosystem Studies in Millbrook, NY seeks a Seasonal Project Assistant for the Deer Management Program. The role supports the Hunt and Check Station operations, data collection, and field duties in a controlled deer management effort on our property.

The position is hourly, temporary, non-benefited, with a wage of $22 per hour. Responsibilities include monitoring hunters, signing in/out, collecting biological data, and performing data entry and clerical work in varying

Qualifications

• Requires valid driver's license and ability to drive a pickup truck.
• Must be able to work all specified weekends during the period.
• Post-offer, pre-employment driving background check will be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with operating the Hunt and Deer Check Station under the Manager of Field Research.
• Monitor hunters, ensure sign-in/out procedures are followed, and support with securing harvested deer.
• Perform data entry and basic data analysis in the Field Lab Facility; assist with clerical tasks.
