Job summary

Abhe & Svoboda, Inc. seeks a Painter/Sandblaster for a US Army Corps of Engineers dam refurbishment project in Minnesota City, MN.

The role is seasonal, aligned with project needs, from April to November, and requires experience in industrial painting and abrasive blasting, along with strong safety training and the ability to work at heights. The team conducts coating applications (vinyl and industrial coatings) via spray, brush, and roller, plus containment setup and debris recovery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of industrial painting experience.
• Ability to pass drug test.
• Ability to pass Workwell test and meet minimum lifting requirements.
• Must possess a current driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Familiarity with US Army Corps of Engineers EM 385-1-1 and OSHA safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Abrasive blasting operations
• Paint preparation work
• Apply USACE vinyl and industrial coatings (spray, brush, roller)
• Abrasive and debris recovery operations
• Mobilize and set up blasting, painting and recovery operations
• Prepare gates for painting; protect or remove unpainted components
• Install containment structures
• Install ambient condition control components and equipment
• Install scaffolding for painting and containment
• Support surface prep, painting and debris removal
• Operate and maintain painting and prep equipment
