Job summary

Downtown Walnut Creek Ace Hardware is seeking a Seasonal Crew Member for the Tree Lot, from mid‑November to the second week of December. This temporary role includes customer service in multiple departments, stocking and assisting customers, and loading/unloading trees.

Pay ranges from $16.90 to $20.00 per hour, dependent on experience. Candidates should be reliable, able to lift up to 60 lbs, and available for the holiday season.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service in various departments and put away freight during the season
• When Christmas trees arrive, load/unload/move/stock merchandise in tree lot locations
• Assist customers in the tree lot and cover registers/deliveries as needed
• Greet customers entering the store and ensure outstanding service
• Handle heavy items and tree-related loading/unloading as required
• Organize tree lot layout and maintain cleanliness

Job Position:

Seasonal Crew Member - Tree Lot (Temporary, Seasonal position)

Duration:

Approximately 3-4 weeks

Expected Dates:

Mid-November - Second Week of December

Compensation:

$16.90 - $20.00 hourly (Dependent on relevant experience)

The primary responsibilities of a Seasonal Crew Member

are to provide customer service in various departments and put away freight during the season. Once the Christmas trees arrive, the position will transition to focus on loading, unloading, moving/stacking merchandise in assigned locations, and assisting customers in the tree lot. Other responsibilities may include covering the sales for assistance, covering the registers, and helping with local deliveries.

Major Responsibilities

• Ensure each customer receives outstanding service
• Greet customers as they enter the store
• Tactfully and pleasantly deal with customers
• Perform other tasks as assigned by store management
• Assist with heavy items and load-outs of trees, lumber, soil, concrete, etc.
• Organize the layout of the tree lot and maintain cleanliness.

The minimum physical requirements for this position include:

• Ability to stand for an extended period of time
• Move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting and perform all functions as set forth
• Ability to lift 60 lbs regularly
• Valid Driver’s License, must be insurable
