Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a seasonal Cook to join our kitchen team in Denver. The role requires preparing all food items per standardized recipes for Restaurants, Room Service, Employee Cafeteria and Banquets, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, sanitation and safety.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; culinary experience preferred.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Moderate physical effort including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand during entire shift and withstand temperature variations.
• Knowledge of hotel/menu standards and food safety practices.
• Proficiency in multiple cooking techniques listed above.
• Knowledge of herbs and spices and proper use.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all storage areas.
• Prepare and display buffet items according to hotel standards.
• Prepare foods for Restaurant, Room Service, Employee Cafeteria and Banquets.
• Assist in storage and rotation of food items as per procedures.
• Ensure safety and compliance with Health Department regulations.
• Support any kitchen position as needed.
• Breakdown buffets and kitchen line and store items properly.
