Job summary

Founders Classical Academy of Leander is seeking a Seasonal Coach to promote athletic development and sportsmanship. The role is part-time and hourly, with duties including organizing meetings, evaluating players, and teaching game rules and techniques.

The successful candidate will foster safe coaching practices, maintain positive relations with school staff, parents and students, and ensure proper supervision and care of equipment during games and practice.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills.
• Ability to work with children and foster love for learning.
• Thorough knowledge of the sport’s rules, regulations, strategies and techniques.
• Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with admins, parents and students.

Responsibilities

• Holds organizational meetings for team prospects and encourages participation.
• Assesses players’ skills and assigns team positions.
• Coaches and instructs players on rules, equipment and techniques.
• Observes players to determine needs for improvement.
• Maintains pupil behavior standards and supervises athletes.
• Communicates with parents/guardians about athletic performance.
• Follows procedures for injuries and ensures proper care of equipment.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Holds organizational meetings for team prospects and encourages potential athletes to
• participate in the sport.
• Assesses player’s skills and assigns team positions.
• Coaches and instructs players, individually or in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, equipment and techniques of the sport.
• Observes players, during competition and practice to determine the needs for individual or team improvement.
• Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior and provides proper supervision of athletes at all times.
• Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury.
• Conferences with parents/guardians, as necessary, regarding the athletic performance of their student.
• Follows state, regional, and district regulations governing the athletic program.
• Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
• Follows established procedures for the proper care, maintenance, and requisitioning of
• equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
• Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
• Other Duties as assigned

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Duties are normally performed in a school environment or outdoors. Duties may be performed away from school. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

Position Type: Part-Time Hourly
Salary: $10 to $15 461 – Activity Funds
