Job summary

Moon Valley Nurseries is seeking a Seasonal Sales Associate at our Chandler lot to help customers select the perfect Christmas trees and accessories, from greeting to final sale. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and receive training with a clear path for growth within North America’s largest box trees and palms grower.

The role requires availability on weekends, ability to work 10:00am–8:00pm, and a genuine customer-service mindset.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Strong customer interaction and closing sales experience.
• Weekend availability is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an excellent customer experience.
• Greet customers and learn what they are looking for (size, species, budget, space).
• Sell confidently and close the sale; guide customers from discovery to decision.
• Present and sell add-ons such as stands, tree care products, wreaths, garland and other seasonal items.
• Process payments accurately and keep selling areas clean, stocked, and safe.

You will help customers find the perfect Christmas tree, guide them from first greeting to final sale, and create a festive, memorable holiday experience. Pay: Hourly plus tips

Schedule

Seasonal, approximately Nov. 23 to Dec. 24. Overtime is available, and weekend availability is required.

10:00am-8:00pm Hours of Operations

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver an excellent customer experience
• Greet every customer warmly and learn what they are looking for (size, species, budget, and space)
• Share product knowledge on tree varieties, freshness, sizes, and care
• Represent the company in a courteous, professional manner
• Sell confidently and close the sale
• Guide customers from discovery to decision, recommending trees that fit their needs and budget
• Present and sell add-ons such as stands, tree care products, wreaths, garland, and other seasonal items
• Address questions and hesitations with confidence and follow through to close the sale
• Contribute to daily team sales goals
• Process payments accurately
• Handle transactions promptly and accurately
• Follow cash-handling and point-of-sale procedures
• Provide a smooth checkout experience
• Keep the lot welcoming and organized
• Support display setup and tree presentation to attract customers
• Keep selling areas clean, stocked, and safe
• Coordinate with teammates to keep customers moving through the lot

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Required

• Strong customer interaction skills and comfort closing sales
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Positive, self-motivated, team-oriented attitude
• Ability to multitask and prioritize
• Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols
• Weekend availability

Preferred

• 2+ years of commission-based sales experience
• Background in customer service, bartending/restaurant, resorts, or golf courses
• Retail or seasonal sales experience
• Familiarity with nurseries, landscaping, or garden products

Education

HS Diploma or GED Equivalent

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

This position is active. The employee must be able to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, use stairs, reach, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.
