Northgate Gonzalez Market is hiring for a cashier role at one of our locations in Southern California. You will greet customers, process purchases, handle cash, and assist with produce questions in a fast-paced grocery setting.

Qualifications

• High school education preferred with apprenticeship/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in handling sales transactions and cash reconciliation.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English well.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.
• Manage cash drawer and ensure accurate till balance at start and end of shift.
• Handle various payment methods including cash, checks, EFTs, and coupons.
• Bag or package merchandise per policy and maintain storefront cleanliness.
• Assist customers with bulk products and answer questions about produce.
• Operate and report issues with point-of-sale systems and cash handling procedures.
• Maintain safety standards and observe security practices on shift.
