Scheels in Eau Claire, WI is hiring a seasonal cashier for a 60-day assignment. You will greet customers, scan items, promote the Scheels Visa card, and assist with digital receipts while delivering a personalized, memorable checkout experience.

The role requires 1–3 months of cashiering experience and a high school diploma or GED. Work is in-store with varied weekend hours, and the benefits package includes ESOP and health coverage.

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers with a smile when entering and exiting the store.
• Enhance the customer experience by engaging in conversation while providing personalized service and promoting digital receipts.
• Accurately scan each item and ensure all merchandise is properly rung through and paid for before checkout.
• Bag purchases carefully and keep the checkout area stocked and clean.
• Promote the Scheels Visa card and explain its benefits.
• Encourage customers to sign up for digital receipts.
• End each transaction with a courteous “thank you” to every customer.
• Operate the computerized register system and balance the cash drawer.

Responsibilities:

• Greet all customers with a smile when entering and exiting the store
• Enhance the customer experience by engaging in conversation while providing personalized service and consistently meeting the goals of the digital receipt program
• Accurately scan every item customers are purchasing, ensuring all merchandise is properly rung through and paid for before the customer leaves the store
• Treat merchandise with care, and bag purchases carefully and efficiently
• Promote the Scheels Visa card and clearly explain all benefits
• Ask every customer to sign up for digital receipts
• End each transaction by saying “thank you” to every customer
• Perform basic math, calculate discounts, make change, and accurately balance the cash drawer
• Operate the computerized register system and follow all cash handling policiesMaintain an awareness of in-store events and promotions
• Keep the checkout area stocked and clean

Schedule:

Must be flexible to work assigned schedule between 7a.m. and 9pm., Monday through Sunday from November 10th 2026 through January 09th 2027. Schedule may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays, must be available minimum of 6 out of 8 weekend days from 11/28/2026-12/27/2026.

• This is a seasonal position for 60 days only. After 60 days, employment will be terminated.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 1-3 months of cashiering experience preferred

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
