Job summary

The Branson School in Marin County, California is seeking a Boys Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach. This part-time, seasonal role supports the head coach by running practices, motivating players, and teaching game strategy while promoting fitness, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

The position requires travel and evening/weekend work. Minimum 1–2 years coaching, a Bachelor's degree, CPR certification, a valid driver's license, and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is required or preferred.
• 1–2 years of basketball coaching experience.
• CPR certification by American Red Cross.
• Valid driver's license and background check clearance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise the Boys Varsity Basketball program.
• Ensure compliance with Branson and League policies during practices and games.
• Plan and organize practices and game schedules with the Head Coach.
• Maintain a safe environment for student athletes at all times.
• Supervise students at home and away games and manage behavior.
• Enforce training rules, class/grade requirements, and on-court conduct.
• Represent Branson professionally in interactions with community.
• Manage equipment, uniforms, inventory, and maintenance.
• Maintain records and Paycom timecard per timelines.
• Keep required certifications/training current and attend practices regularly.
• Obtain approval for team-related expenditures from Athletic Director.
