Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical rigging training a plus.
  • Valid rigging or crane operation certification (e.g., NCCCO) preferred.
  • 2–3 years experience as a barge deckhand or on large vessels required.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, and operate rigging equipment to lift and position heavy loads.
  • Secure loads using proper rigging methods and ensure safe transport.
  • Inspect rigging tools and equipment and report defects.
  • Follow lift plans and assist in construction or demolition of structures.
  • Load/unload materials and maintain tools and equipment.
