Job summary

Carter’s, the largest North American apparel retailer for babies and young children, is hiring a Seasonal Associate. You will warmly welcome customers and guide them through our baby essentials and school prep items, while supporting a fast-paced retail floor and POS transactions.

You’ll be part of a welcoming team, with opportunities for growth, discounts on our brands, and development programs that support your career journey. Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays is needed.

• Customer service experience or demonstrated customer engagement skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers with a warm greeting and explain product styles, features and benefits.
• Resolve customer issues confidently and balance multiple customers during peak times.
• Assist customers with omnichannel needs to ensure a positive shopping experience.
• Process sales transactions at the register.
• Perform floor replenishment and assist with shipments as needed.
• Explain current promotions and Carter’s loyalty program to customers.
• Help minimize store loss by maintaining a safe, clean store environment.

What you’ll do:

• Welcome customers with a warm greeting and provide assistance with our product styles, features, and benefits.
• Confidently and proactively resolve issues for customers and balance a number of customers in a busy retail environment.
• Meet customer needs by assisting with omnichannel as needed to ensure a positive shopping experience.
• Execute and expedite point of sale/register transactions.
• Complete floor replenishment and shipment as needed.
• Articulate current promotional events and the brand loyalty program, including credit, to customers.
• Minimize store loss by providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a safe, clean store.

Qualities we’d love in a candidate:

• A positive and solutions-oriented mindset.
• Demonstrated customer service and engagement skills.
• Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills.
• The ability to manage multiple tasks at once.

You can:

• Lift 40 pounds as needed, with frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
• Stand or walk for extended periods of time; climb up and down a ladder.
• Provide availability that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

Compensation for this position ranges from $10.00 - $11.75 per hour based on experience and location.
