Job summary

Varsity Spirit, a Varsity Brands company, is seeking an Assistant Operational Support to assist with daily warehouse operations, inventory control, and event logistics. You will support event coordinators, production staff, and on-site activities during events through the season.

Ideal candidates are organized, able to multitask, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Weekend availability and travel for events are required as part of the role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or related field or equivalent work experience is preferred.
• Prior experience in operations, logistics, or a warehouse is preferred.
• Prior experience in cheer/dance industry a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner closely with the Warehouse Manager to support daily operations and inventory management.
• Assist Logistics Coordinators with inventory control, transportation, and supply chain activities.
• Support Event Coordinators and Event Planners with event preparation, organization, and execution.
• Assist Production Coordinators with event logistics, equipment management, and operational readiness.
• Perform general office support duties.
• Serve in various operational and support roles at events as needed.
• Assist with and, when appropriate, lead event setup, breakdown, and on-site execution activities.

LOCATION: 3865 Produce Rd. Louisville, KY

TRAVEL AND AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENT

• Event travel and attendance at staff meetings & trainings is required. Event travel will include overnight stays for events.
• As part of the event operations team during the event season which runs from October thru May, this role is expected to be available to work 2-3 weekends per month.

Availability to work weekend & off-hour events is required.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

TheAssistant Operational Supportis an important member of our Varsity All Star Operations Team, providing support to all the operational members of this department and executing additional job functions. This person should be a self-starter, extremely organized, able to multi-task, and project oriented.

TheAssistant Operational Supportwill represent Varsity Brands by demonstration of company core values in driving the highest ethical standards of conduct in all business activities.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This job operates in a professional office, warehouse, and event environment.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time. Repetitive movement of the body is required on a regular basis. The position requires lifting of no less than 15-50 lbs. on a regular basis. Must be able to tolerate working in a non-climate-controlled environment. Ability to often lift heavy items is essential.

During events, the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time (five hours plus) is required. The ability to communicate with customers and colleagues using the following but not limited to radio, walkie talkie, text message, and email is required. The ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and manipulate equipment that is a minimum of 30 lbs. is required.
