Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking Asphalt Quality Control Technicians for our metro area asphalt plants in Minnesota. This seasonal union role requires IUOE Local 49 membership and offers outdoor and lab work with travel between sites.

Responsibilities include sampling and testing asphalt and aggregate, data analysis, calibration and maintenance of testing equipment, and reporting results to supervision. Safety, communication, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Willing to travel to various plant locations on a day-to-day basis.
• MNDOT Aggregate Production Certification, or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• MNDOT Bituminous Plant 1 Certification, or ability to obtain within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Sampling and testing of asphalt mixtures and aggregate products.
• Analyzing test data and recording and reporting results.
• Calibrating, cleaning, and maintaining production testing equipment.
• Ensuring materials stay within specification during production.
• Communicating findings and results with production staff and supervisor.
