University of Illinois Hospital & Clinics (UI Health) seeks a full-time APRN - Certified Nurse Practitioner to join Imaging and Diagnostic Services. The role provides comprehensive health care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning and prescribing within medical staff privileges, and supports education of nursing and medical students.

The APRN must maintain a faculty appointment to receive clinical privileges and will participate in case conferences, precept mentorship, curriculum

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required.
  • Graduation from accredited APRN program.
  • Current license as a Professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice in Illinois.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the care of patients within assigned area and/or area of expertise and within parameters of medical staff privileges.
  • Obtain relevant patient health history. Study and interpret patient tests and records.
  • Perform physical exam and record findings.
  • Perform various diagnostic, preventive and/or therapeutic procedures and/or order special screenings and developmental or laboratory tests to diagnose conditions; interpret results.
  • Prescribe/order appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions and develop a treatment plan.
  • Develop an educational plan for patient/family.
  • Assist with scheduling of patients for upcoming procedures including coordinating with other services and completion of necessary documentation.
  • Order appropriate consultation/referral.
  • Determine effectiveness of treatment plan with documentation of treatment provided and patient outcomes.
  • Reassess and modify plan with patient/family and treatment team within the parameters of medical staff privileges.
  • Participates in the educational experiences of nursing students, medical students, residents and other healthcare disciplines; serve as a preceptor and mentor.

Education

SEARCH EXTENDED - APRN Certified Nurse Practitioner - Imaging and Diagnostic Services

The University of Illinois Hospital & Clinics (UI Health) is seeking a full-time APRN - Certified Nurse Practitioner to join their team. The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) provides comprehensive health care for assigned patients/community as determined by scope of practice guidelines and specialty. This includes completion of a health assessment, determining diagnosis, planning and prescribing treatment within the parameters of medical staff privileges at UI Health and area of expertise. The APRN participates in the educational experiences of nursing students, medical students, residents and other health care disciplines.

The APRN is required to have and maintain a faculty appointment in order to receive clinical privileges to practice at UI Health.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with scheduling of patients for upcoming procedures including coordinating with other services (division, departments) and completion of necessary documentation, scheduling forms and clearance.
  • Order appropriate consultation/referral.
  • Determine effectiveness of treatment plan with documentation of treatment provided and patient outcomes.
  • Reassess and modify plan with patient/family and treatment team within the parameters of medical staff privileges.
  • Participates in the educational experiences of nursing students, medical students, residents and other healthcare disciplines. By being involved in case conferences, serving as a preceptor and mentor, assisting with curriculum development and instruction.
  • The Advanced Practice Nurse is required to have and maintain a faculty appointment in order to receive clinical privileges to practice at the University of Illinois Health System.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required.
  • Graduation from accredited APRN program.
  • Current license as a Professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice.
  • Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois required.
Salary & Benefits:

This position is intended to be eligible for benefits. This includes Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, a Retirement Plan, Paid time Off, and Tuition waivers for employees and dependents.

Salary: The previously determined salary range for this position was $120,479 to $144,151.

Final salary offered will be determined by a thorough assessment of available market data, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, and budget constraints. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the full range for a position.
