Kenmore Air is seeking an experienced seaplane pilot for the summer season to fly the DHC-3 Turbine Otter on scheduled and charter operations throughout Western Washington and British Columbia. This seasonal role runs May through September in Kenmore, WA, with duties including single-pilot Part 135 operations and delivering an exceptional passenger experience.

Requirements include an FAA Airplane Commercial Certificate with SES and Instrument Rating, at least 1,000 total flight hours and 400 SES

Qualifications

  • Commercial FAA certificate with SES and instrument rating.
  • Minimum 1,000 total flight hours.
  • Minimum 400 hours SES PIC.
  • Part 135 experience preferred.
  • DHC-3 Turbine Otter time preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Single-pilot Part 135 Seaplane Captain for scheduled and charter ops in Western WA and BC.
  • Deliver exceptional passenger experience per Kenmore Air standards.
  • Maintain safety, professionalism, and regulatory compliance on every flight.
  • Coordinate with ground crew, dispatch, and operations staff for on-time departures.
  • Complete all required documentation, weight & balance, and pre-flight duties per SOPs.

Kenmore Air has been an iconic Pacific Northwest heritage company for over 80 years, flying scenic tours over Lake Washington and the San Juan Islands, operating charter flights throughout the western United States, and running scheduled service connecting destinations across the U.S. and Canada. We are looking for an experienced seaplane pilot to join our team for the summer season flying the DHC-3 Turbine Otter on scheduled and charter operations throughout Western Washington and British Columbia.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Single-pilot Part 135 Seaplane Captain for scheduled and charter operations throughout Western Washington State and British Columbia, Canada
  • Delivering an exceptional passenger experience consistent with the Kenmore Air standard of service
  • Maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and regulatory compliance on every flight
  • Coordinating with ground crew, dispatch, and operations staff to ensure safe and on-time departures
  • Completing all required documentation, weight and balance, and pre-flight duties in accordance with Kenmore Air SOPs
Requirements
  • FAA Airplane Commercial Certificate with Single Engine Sea (SES) and Instrument Rating
  • Valid U.S. Passport
  • Meets VFR Part 135 minimum pilot qualifications per FAR 135.243(b)
  • Minimum 400 hours SES flight time as Pilot in Command
  • Minimum 1,000 hours total flight time
  • Previous Part 135 experience highly preferred
  • Previous DHC-3T Turbine Otter time highly preferred
  • Superior customer service skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and FAA required background check
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform all duties associated with seaplane dock and waterfront operations
  • Ability to work in variable Pacific Northwest weather conditions
