Job summary

Nestlé Purina North America in Allentown, PA is seeking a Seamer Mechanic to diagnose, adjust, and repair seamer equipment within a night-shift operation. You will ensure seam quality and maintain equipment to high standards in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

The role requires 1+ years of maintenance experience or a two-year technical degree, with a pay rate of $40.39 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package. Candidates should be prepared for a 6 PM–6 AM schedule.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, adjust and repair seamer equipment to maintain standards and seam quality.
• Perform seam checks as scheduled and make necessary adjustments.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections on filling-area equipment.
• Assist the Chief Seamer Mechanic with rebuilds and repairs.
• Weld, braze and repair parts and equipment as needed.
• Operate nibblers, grinders, drill presses and abrasive cut-off machines.
• Work hours: 6 PM–6 AM.

Position Summary

Just 65 miles from Center City Philadelphia, Allentown is near many major Northeastern U.S. cities, which makes it an ideal location for manufacturing and distributing consumer goods. We utilize thermal processing and high-speed canning to produce varieties of our Friskies®, Beneful® and Pro Plan® brands—product lines that we have carefully produced, packaged, and shipped since 1958. • Make diagnoses, adjustments and repairs to seamer equipment as required to maintain established standards, provide seam quality, and maintain equipment in good operating condition.
• Perform seam checks in the proper manner per the established schedule; make appropriate adjustments as required.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on all equipment in the filling area per established schedule.
• Assist the Chief Seamer Mechanic with rebuilds, diagnosis, adjustments and repairs on equipment as needed.
• Weld, burn, and braze to repair parts and equipment.
• Use nibblers, grinders, drill presses, and abrasive cut off machines.
• This role will be required to work 6PM-6AM.

Pay: $40.39 per hour

The pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at top of range.
