Job summary

Chromalloy is seeking a skilled Machinist for the 3rd shift (11:00pm–7:30am) in Newnan, GA. You will operate CNC and manual machines to fabricate and repair precision parts, reading blueprints and applying GD&T to ensure tight tolerances.

Ideal candidates have strong attention to detail, basic math skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining safety and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Trade school certificate in machining preferred.
  • Experience operating CNC and/or manual machinery valued but not required for entry-level.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain CNC and manual machine tools to fabricate or repair precision components, working within tight tolerances.
  • Analyze blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machine setups, procedures, and optimal machining sequences.
  • Apply GD&T to ensure product conformity.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments to inspect parts and ensure they meet specifications.
  • Maintain accurate inspection documentation and production records.

MACHINIST (3rd Shift: 11:00pm-7:30am)
Job Summary

The Machinist operates and programs computer numerically controlled (CNC) and manual machinery,including grinding and milling machines, to produce and repair high-quality, precision parts. The idealcandidate demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and proactiveapproach to efficiency. This role requires a safety-conscious team player capable of interpreting complexblueprints and working effectively with minimal supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • - Set up, operate, and maintain CNC and manual machine tools to fabricate or repair precisioncomponents, working within tight tolerances.
  • - Analyze blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machine setups,procedures, and optimal machining sequences.
  • - Apply knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure productconformity.
  • - Utilize and interpret various precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers(ID/OD/depth), calipers, and pi tapes, to inspect parts and ensure they meet specifications.
  • - Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials onto machines.
  • - Adjust machine feeds, speeds, and tool offsets as needed to maintain high-quality production.
  • - Perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime and ensureconsistent performance.
  • - Operate overhead cranes safely to handle materials and parts.
  • - Maintain accurate inspection documentation and production records.
  • - Communicate effectively within a team environment and with supervisors to ensure priorities andassignments are met efficiently.
  • - Demonstrate a continuous commitment to improving efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  • - Adhere to all company health, safety, and environmental policies and maintain excellenthousekeeping standards.
Qualifications
  • - Experience with equipment such as CNC 3-axis, 5-axis, machining, grinding, milling, surfacegrinding, creep feed grinding.
  • - Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent manual dexterity.
  • - Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical documents, and work instructions.
  • - Intermediate mathematical skills for measurement, testing, and problem-solving.
  • - Solid critical thinking skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues.
  • - Ability to work effectively both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively withina team.
  • - Excellent attention to detail, ensuring work is consistently precise.
  • - Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Outlook.
  • - Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Education and Experience
  • - High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • - A trade school certificate or specialized education in machining is preferred.
  • - Previous experience operating CNC and/or manual machinery is highly valued but not required for entry-level applicants.
